Employment Tribunal Support

At Opportunity Rocks HR we understand how overwhelming it can feel to face an Employment Tribunal. The process is long, unfamiliar and often expensive. Cases can stretch over 12 to 24 months and solicitor fees can spiral out of control.

We offer a clear and affordable alternative designed to support employees in building strong cases and achieving fair outcomes.

Our commitment is focused solely on protecting your rights and giving you the best possible chance of success.

Our services are delivered in four clear stages. Each stage is paid in two instalments, 50% at the start and 50% on completion, so you only ever pay for the work you need.

Stage 1. Building Your Claim

We begin by registering ACAS Early Conciliation, drafting your ET1 claim, preparing your schedule of loss and submitting a Subject Access Request to gather vital evidence. A strong start here is crucial because you cannot usually add to your claim later unless you have suffered further detriments. Mistakes at this stage can weaken your case further down the line.

Fees:

  • £650 for returning clients where we already handled your grievance or appeal

  • £800 for new clients starting with ORHR

  • £950 if another provider did prior work and we need to review or correct it

Timing: Usually 1 to 2 months, depending on ACAS and your employer’s response times.
Payment: 50% upfront &  50% once the ET1 and schedule of loss are complete.

Stage 2. Analysing the Employer’s Defence

When your employer submits their ET3 response, we review it carefully to identify strengths, weaknesses and any missing detail. If required, we can also prepare further particulars or request additional information. This stage ensures you are fully prepared to counter their arguments and to refine your strategy.

Fees: £700 fixed fee

Timing: Typically 1 to 2 months after Stage 1, as the EC certificate lasts one month and the ET3 response usually follows shortly after.
Payment: 50% upfront, 50% once our analysis is complete.

Stage 3. Managing Your Case

Tribunal cases are often delayed for many months. During this stage we handle all communication with your employer, their solicitor and ACAS, manage deadlines and tribunal orders, and explore settlement discussions where appropriate. You stay informed without having to manage the stress day to day.

Fees:

  • £800 for single claim cases or multiple ca cases where correspondence is limited

  • £1,750 for complex or prolonged cases that require extended management and communication

Timing: This stage can last 6 to 18 months depending on tribunal backlogs.
Payment: 50% upfront, 50% once all correspondence and case management tasks for the stage are complete.

Stage 4. Preparing for Hearing

As your hearing approaches, we organise the case bundle, draft witness statements, prepare a chronology and case summary, update your schedule of loss and rehearse with you so you feel confident presenting your case.

Fee: £1,200 fixed fee

Timing: Typically 1 to 2 months before the hearing date.
Payment: 50% upfront, 50% once bundle and witness statements are complete.

Hearing Support

We prepare and coordinate your hearing so everything runs smoothly. You can choose preparation only or full preparation and attendance, depending on your needs.

Most employees instruct a barrister to represent them in court, which we strongly recommend for the best possible outcome. Barristers are engaged and paid for separately by you. However, it is also possible to represent yourself if you feel confident doing so, using the preparation and guidance we provide.

Fees

  • £300 per hearing day within Greater London

  • Preliminary hearings under three hours: £150

  • For multi-day hearings, fees are capped at £2,000 in total

  • Travel costs apply if the Employment Tribunal is outside Greater London

Timing: Preliminary hearings are usually a few hours, although some can run to a full day if substantive issues are decided. Final hearings typically last several days.

Payment: 50% percent is payable a month before the  hearing, with the balance due within 7 days of the final day of the hearing.
